Hey I have been playing the new fishing update, however I noticed that many characters cannot use items in battle and instead just skips their turn. I am playing on the newest bugfix 1 version
Hey dude, I can't access the mayor house through the ladder at the badland there is something blocking the way and I'm also playing the fishing update version
It wouldn't really be worth doing so as it would break immersion on certain parts because of things needing to be offscreen or assets made with the window size in mind.
You recruit Ronny at the beginning in the sewers (it's kinda forced), Sala is recruited by unlocking his cell in the cult's mansion with the keys you get from warden, Warden is recruited after you defeat him (tipping over his chair starts the fight) and do all the following quests he asks for in the mansion (remember to follow him, when he tells you not to), after you exit the mansion he should join your party. Interrobang joins you after you get knocked out by the thieves. Now, lastly, you recruit Ari Aida in the thieves' prison, you have to unlock her cell with the keys you obtain after defeating Varek and then she joins you.
This game is awesome, played the previous build like 3 times, messed around with it in RPG Maker and had a lot of fun. It's even better now that it's updated. Also, is there any way I can contact you, Pinyaps? I have some suggestions regarding the game.
The game is great new content feels great but there is bug where I can't get an item in cult tunnels. And also I miss the phone guy (I came up with that name) talking to us
Fantastic game, happy to see it has been updated. New content and more game time made me really really happy to see, even more so in this game that I find so lovely.
Art is very stylish, definitely reminds me of Paper Mario and it's great to see how the characters exhude personality with each move, some examples being Ronny's contant anxiousness, Interrobang's direct and "no-nonsense" moves and Warden's (Love Warden!! Warden <3) firm and almost "cocky" moves.
Music is as always fantastic with such great tunes. Even the overworld ones are fantastic and hold their weight compared to the great combat tracks.
Combat is great and better than ever with the new Party Members and moves, new equipment with special "skills" also making it so you can combine moves for even more potential.
Story was also quite nice, happy to see it expanded and with more secrets, special items and hidden fights, found myself going out of my way to return to previously visited areas and was pleasantly surprised to find a boss or such in them, along with some nice goodies. I feel guilty for wanting a bit more but it's nice to see a "glimpse" into such a lovely little world Pinyaps has created.
Some other things I wanted to at least mention: Warden and Ari Aida are lovely additions to the rooster too. Warden being another "moveset" character along with Interro is quite nice. His moves are interesting, mainly the hype ones, since they can make him or other characters deal quite a huge amount of damage, stun and daze and his "combos" with those are nice to see, although I was a bit sad since I didn't manage to get any insta-kills with his special move. Ari's "group"-targeted moves were nice. Going into a battle and dealing damage to everyone while maybe getting some crits here and there make her an interesting addition. Maybe wish she had more moves but then again they can be quite impactful against groups so I can't complain much. Some moves did extra damage to hidden enemies but I felt like there were very few of them so I didn't use them much, which was a bit sad. I liked to see Interro having some more stuff to her, she turned out to be funny (besides being quite smart) which was quite interesting to see considering she looks so serious all the time. Again, the extra bosses and enemies encounters were great to find, the "quests" too were very nice to complete... although one quite surprised me since one dude apparently dies before you can "properly" finish it. Wish there was another Glove-equippable since I really only had Warden's and Interrobang's starting ones so I kept switching them from time to time. The game has so many little moments that are funny or give it a breath of fresh air such as going inside a house in timberland and falling on top of a dude, bucket musician's little "tune", NPCs talking to each other or just talking to themselves, found it nice and quite funny that the barrel town "mania" was talked more about. it's some minor stuff but adorable. The villain's "ending" along with what Interro talked about were quite interesting to know too. The "Mainland" is talked about a lot in the game, with many character's goals after the events that happened in the island the game is set on being moving to it/starting over again in it and in the end you end you also go to it with the remaining people and... it ends. I never noticed it but the game starts and ends at night. It's nice. Guess those are symbolic. EDIT: The game also talks a bit about "effort" and "laziness" or taking "shortcuts" to achieving power, and even about regret when the shortcut goes wrong, I found that nice as well, and to see character dealing with it was interesting and a bit sad.
Hmm... What else is there to say... Rebound is quite a nice game with a bunch of surprises, one of the few pieces of media that really stuck with me and I think fondly about from time to time. Sorry for the drawn out comment (or also for thinking a lot about stuff that may have not even meant much really) but I really wanted to talk a lot about this game and why I like it so much. Happy to have experienced its world and characters, it's very very charming and memorable. Thank you for the game and the update, Pinyaps.
Still a hell of a fun time like it was 5 years ago, if not even better now (shoutout to the GOAT warden). I really liked the new Markus fights aswell, the 1st one in the Mansion was probably the toughest fight in the whole game for me but it was very fun.
Now that the final boss has been unscrewed: yeah this still rules
I like that throwing weapons now(?) is extra effective against hidden enemies, that's smart. But I'm pretty sure I only saw 1 hiding enemy so that's sad
Hard swing is still extremely precise, help
Big fan of the new party members. Especially warden, he is sick as hell. I love his anims. I wish the other one (literally forgot her name) had more starting skills for getting her at level 9, I was put off by her at first. But she's cool too.
When markus does the buzzo wrecks you moment i had equipped the reflect shield on the warden, who proceeded to reflect it and i kicked his ass in the first fight. That was funny. And is probably a bug.
I'm happy you get Interrobang early now, I always liked her a lot.
I think every enemy could still do with having slightly less HP and deal slightly more damage. When you get to the Nth "single enemy with 10k hp" fight it's a bit annoying.
In the desert village after you're thrown in jail, twice now when I saw the orange flag pointing down I didn't sprint jump and just walked off and died. I don't know whose fault it is that I do that anymore.
I'm happy this got updated, and I'm happy this exists in the first place. This little game is special and I really like it. And the soundtrack bangs.
I will probably address the large HP pools in a future update
they're only like that because everyone I've seen playtest always managed to stack multiple status effects and somehow deal up to 5k damage per turn to the boss and killing them before they did anything cool
but I am glad you're having fun, the positive reception to this update makes me happy
I managed to beat the last phase of the cult leader after it gets stuck with an empty healthbar by using the tower card you get from a chest... which brought every enemy back to full health. But after beating everyone again, including the leader, the death event triggered, ending the fight.
Still, it was fun to come back to this game! Always an enjoyable time!
oops i'm very late to the party, the cake has been eaten, the ballons have upped themselves to the ceiling, and the people left. oh well
i guess there's not much point in saying anything about the game other than "thank you for the wonderful experience I've had with Rebound", since many praises have been given, and while much like others I am kind of sad that it didn't progress past the first chapter & of course would not hesitate to play a quality of life update, in the end I'm really just so grateful for what there is. So, really what I want to say is I hope you continue to be artistic, no matter how much it's related to gaming or even how public. I think your sprites and drawings are very special, there's a sense of childlike wonder to the locations and situations you create and you have a unique way of making a design immediately endearing, as if it's been with the player/viewer/whatever for much longer than it has. Cactus Man, Ronny, "business partner", the magical cultists, ??? man and whatever that knife wielding enemy hiding in a bush was called are some of the coolest, dare I say radest looking characters I've seen in a game. tl;dr thank you
An impressive game with alot of very pretty visuals, surprising depth for a turn based rpg maker game, and very memorable characters. Even if the game will never be fully realized, what we have here is nothing short of art. Kuddos to you and all the supporting team for the wonderful art and music, (i still listen to this games music to this day while playing other games) be proud of the work you've done here and push yourself to go above and beyond this in your future. Cheers, pinyaps, thank you for this wonderful experience
(Excuse my subpar formatting and basic language, this is probably the 2nd time I've ever wrote any sort of review for a game)
That game is one of my most favorite so far! The art is impressive, soundtrack so catchy, all of the characters... Charismatics! And was very very fun to play. All my respect to the people in the project!
This game was so good I created an account to talk about it.
I found this game thanks to its soundtrack (which I loved... and will talk more about it later) and because it was related to LISA (Which I'm a tad obsessed with) and... to put it simply, was amazing. Some small problems here and there but the wonderful and interesting characters, amazing soundtrack with nice locations and lovely combat make for a great game regardless of that.
Each battle in this game is simply so good that I found myself going out of my way to find more enemies to fight. The combat is challenging but NEVER unfair and I loved finding ways to "combo" character's attacks and skills with others in the party.
The soundtrack is AMAZING. S.Rufure, Timberline, Magic Dudes, Sewers, Stakes are High, Rolling Forward, No Joking Around (Also the unuseds: Impostor Club, Spirit Quest, Bellcurve...) And many more. Such wonderful WONDERFUL bops made the whole experience so much better.
It makes me really sad to know that this game's future is grim, but I'm happy that I could have so much fun with it, even if it was just for a while. Thanks for creating such a lovely game, I hope you find success in whatever you plan to do in your future.
By the way... could I make content related to this game (Fan art/videos/etc)? I simply loved it so much that I just want to do stuff related to it (even if I'm not very good at it).
This game is, personally? One of my favorites, even until now. I've been watching this game develop ever since Venus was still a Boss. In all honesty, the gameplay is good, and the art is better. some of the character designs can be better but the game at the moment its pretty good, i like when the game make me choose if i would save mi health or fight for experience.
Additionally, "If Windows tells you that Rebound.exe might be dangerous don't be alarmed. It seems to do this with every RPG Maker extractor application." why not use a traditional ZIP extension or to the very least a RAR extension rather than an executable that extracts itself?
I do believe that this type of executables are very sketchy, I don't say that your game has a virus or anything, I don't trust single EXE files that extracts themselves and it doesn't surprise me if antiviruses catch this as a malware (Even if it's a false positive).
I noticed that there was a folder called "ffi" with unrelated Unix files and a bunch of Ruby files, do you think that the game can run on Linux, because I have a Debian system (64 bits ARM) and it would be interesting to try the game out in it.

I can't get past the spooky guy in the apartments in the ruins. He's blocking the way. Playing on the recent bugfix by the way.
Hey I have been playing the new fishing update, however I noticed that many characters cannot use items in battle and instead just skips their turn. I am playing on the newest bugfix 1 version
Should be fixed now hopefully
Thanks, items seem to work in battle now.
Hey dude, I can't access the mayor house through the ladder at the badland there is something blocking the way and I'm also playing the fishing update version
we're working on it and a lot of other bugs
Really weird seeing a game I was sure got cancelled announcing a fish update in my youtube recommendations. Not that I'm complaining.
Tbh, i completely forgot all about this game.
Woah, the game got updated after so long?
You love to see it!
Is there a way to make the rpgmaker window bigger? It's really small on my screen and I can't run it using the app in the mkxp
Nope! That's RPG Maker for you
Pain. I know there's a way to do it, but there's gotta be some fuckery you need to do with the files
It wouldn't really be worth doing so as it would break immersion on certain parts because of things needing to be offscreen or assets made with the window size in mind.
Probably one of the F buttons on the top of your keyboard.
At least from what I can remember.
Also no, not Alt + F4. I'm not being funny today X
i like taitoki's music from the bonus tracks in the PNP OST, might peep
oh lisa inspired eh? might need to give this a go, doubly so if it has the same kinda horror vibes as lisa
Is there a guide to getting all the party members? Seriously I wanna know but there is no wiki, no guide, no nothing that can help me.
About to replay this masterpice and I'm it will be a hell of a ride!!!!
Thanks for making the most beautiful game I've seen

I just uploaded a version that hopefully fixes that issue
i'm glad you're having fun
Yea there is no death event for the second fight with the cult leader once he... changes.
I'll get right to it
Am I wrong or does the finale edition cult leader 2 fight have no death event or did i kill him too fast or smth
Yeah that's a mistake on my part, I'll fix it quickly
Warden

Aw man, it's a shame that this game was cancelled.
I really enjoyed the Demo of your Game. If the Game would ever get revived and finished i would love to play the full version :)
oooo e aa aa ao A eoe A :)

A special thanks to Pinyaps from Brazil!
By the way, I miss Chicken and Track Boy.
Also from brazil! Mano Esse jogo é massa de mais! Fiz até live jogando ele há dois anos atrás.
Eita cara, que dahora! Depois se tu tiver a live gravada, me passa?

Thanks for the kind words, I really appreciate it and I'm glad you had fun.
But I don't see why I wouldn't allow fan content lol
Nice! Well... better to ask for... permission than forgiveness. Or something like that.
I just finished this!
It was fun, I enjoyed the jokes in the early parts of the game. (Some jokes after returning to Barrel town are funny, too.)
The music was definitely what sucked me into the game, & definitely is great.
The "first chapter" is surprisingly long. I'm impressed. A bit of the game was a surprise, but I'll keep that vague due to spoilers.
There were a few glitches, but they're just the type that were easy to laugh off.
Lastly I'd like to add; the art & character design is pretty cool! Did you do the overworld backgrounds? I think they are super good.
I did just about every thing art related aside from menu sprites
This game is, personally? One of my favorites, even until now.
I've been watching this game develop ever since Venus was still a Boss.
In all honesty, the gameplay is good, and the art is better. But what made this game, like many others, great, for me, was the amount of effort put into every second of it's playtime.
The game has a special place in my heart, personally, due to me and a friend being built off it when the Server was still up. And another having one of their characters in a Tabletop being inspired by Ronny.
The game still holds up about a year or two later, and I've never lost sight of it's fun and the emotion it brings out.
This isn't even to speak on it's gameplay, or the music tailored for the game itself. Magic Men in particular, is a great one to point out.
The combat is engaging, and each encounter is satisfying once you have everything sought out. It makes you want to seek out encounters instead of feeling obliged. The characters are lively, and they each have their own special gimmicks that, whilst, one-sided, are charming. It really holds out into the imagination of the player.
Pinyaps' art is a blessing to hold for me, since every line is eye candy to behold once the line start coming to life.
Although it's been years since it's activity and presence has died out, I'm still thinking about this game. And it's unfortunate that the game's direction is bleak for the forseeable future, but what there is of it now is still gonna be something that some people will certainly have fond memories of.
I'm sorry this comment has gone all over the place, and that it's been a slog to read, but I just wanted to give my apprecation for what there is of this game today.
Thank you for bringing this game to life, sincerely. I wish you good luck for whatever endeavors you seek out in the future.
This is one of the most touching things anyone has ever said about my content
Hey, man. Every thing you touch with compassion deserves that kind of praise. Keep on going, Pin. I know you can.
i feel kinda depressed when i see unfinished/cancelled single-developer ones including lisa/yume nikki fangames but the thing is you've done it deadass good
i still appreciate this and gonna play agan soon haha gonna bang interrob
This game is good actually. when you gonna update it?
i don't think i will sadly
why?
i just don't have the drive to
that's worrying
it's been like this for almost 2 years now
oh I never knew you actually made a game pinyap
i don't like to bring it up
tHIS IS GOOD
This game is amazing and i love everything about it <3
I remember once seeing this game's music on a Youtube channel about a year ago. I found the Demo and fell in love with it, and then I found the Discord. I've just gotta say, after watching this grow for so long, this is in my eyes a masterpiece you've created.
Time to roll out the red carpet.
Thank you.
Hey uh, is this game still developing? the game is so good. and i'll wait if you do.
some of the character designs can be better but the game at the moment its pretty good, i like when the game make me choose if i would save mi health or fight for experience.
Character designs are definitely my weakest points when it comes to making a game but I'm glad you liked the game.
I would love to help you on that
